{"id":376,"date":"2007-04-19T01:56:40","date_gmt":"2007-04-19T01:56:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/new.israelgreenwald.com\/?p=376"},"modified":"2015-03-13T01:56:56","modified_gmt":"2015-03-13T01:56:56","slug":"law-man-eyes-mob-cops-for-tv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/israelgreenwald.com\/?p=376","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;LAW&#8217; MAN EYES &#8216;MOB&#8217; COPS FOR TV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/new.israelgreenwald.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/newyorkpost_oe3-1.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-296\" src=\"http:\/\/new.israelgreenwald.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/newyorkpost_oe3-1.gif\" alt=\"newyorkpost_oe3-1\" width=\"355\" height=\"66\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nBy DON KAPLAN<br \/>\nApril 19, 2007 &#8212; The creator of &#8220;Law &amp; Order&#8221; is hoping to get a hit out of the alleged Mafia cops.<br \/>\nDick Wolf, the brains behind the long-running TV crime dramas, has optioned rights to the book &#8220;The Brotherhoods: The True Story of Two Cops Who Murdered for the Mafia,&#8221; the tale of Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito.<br \/>\nWolf says he is exploring how to turn the book into a new series, a possible &#8220;Law &amp; Order&#8221; spin-off or a series of TV movies.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not even sure if we&#8217;re going to use it, it&#8217;s still early, this could go any number of ways,&#8221; Wolf said.<br \/>\nWhile the book is about how Caracappa and Eppolito allegedly led double lives both as peace officers and cold-blooded killers, Wolf said he would focus on co-author William Oldham.<\/p>\n<p>The former cop once worked alongside Caracappa, and years later led a team of special investigators who found enough evidence to arrest Caracappa and Eppolito.<\/p>\n<p>don.kaplan@nypost.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By DON KAPLAN April 19, 2007 &#8212; The creator of &#8220;Law &amp; Order&#8221; is hoping to get a hit out of the alleged Mafia cops.
